All tunnels and chambers seen are connected via short, hidden passages (see photos). The design is intended to remain highly visible while giving the ants a more private space due to smaller passageways between areas. These habitats are carved with a lot of detail and care and the time that goes into making one is significantly higher than a standard Type I (Ytong)
