Turkey, Ottoman Empire. A War Medal, Galipoli Star, By B.b. & Co. certificate_of_authenticity of the Star of India(Harp Madalyasi). Instituted in 1915. In silvered bronze with red enamels, German made, ball finials on the tips of the star points, maker marked "B. B. & Co." on the reverse, measuring 57. 5 mm (w) x 55 mm (h), horizontal pinback, intact enamels, very light contact, near extremely fine. Footnote: The Gallipolli Star was a military decoration awarded by the Ottoman Empire. It is also known as the Ottoman War Medal. It was instituted by Sultan Mehmed V
