Gaunt & Son), marked with an anchor (made in Birmingham), the British lion and date marked "s" (1917) on the reverse, measuring 40 mm (w) x 55 mm (h), both lugs intact, chipping evident in the red enamels on the insignia, near extremely fine. Footnote: The 12th Battalion Canadian Railway Troops was formed in the spring of 1918 by the conversion and re designation of the 3rd Labour
