It is signed in scroll letters on the octagonal barrel: Anton Baumann in Mnchen This air rifle was made by the high art Gun Maker ANTON BAUMMAN of MUNICH, who worked at his height between 1798 and 1812 when he was Gun Maker to the Crown Prince of Bavaria. It is constructed along the lines of a Wheel lock
