This is a great uniform grouping attributed to Lieutenant Ira Middaugh, who was a co pilot on the B 17F Mary R in the 337th Bombardment Squadron, 96th Bombardment Group, 8th Air Force. On July 26th, 1943, he and his crew were shot down over Eindorf, near Walsrode, Germany when an enemy aircraft knocked out two of their engines. Middaugh was taken as a prisoner of war, and kept in the POW camp Stalag Luft III. The
