This is one of the most desirable Collector's bayonets, fitted with a massive very wide 19" SAWBACK blade, which is 1 3 4" at its widest point. These are VERY rare, and this is the first example that we have had. This is a very nice example of the Rare Mauser Model 1871 Faschinenmesser Pioneer Sawback Bayonet, with a brass hilt and the characteristic steel "S" cross guard. The name itself translates to "Fascine
